Our room was wonderful, so quiet and relaxing. It was charmingly decorated in Victorian Scotland style, complete with antique books, furniture and wall décor. The bed was very comfortable with nice linens, the sitting room a welcome place for relaxing. Laundry was available at no charge. The kitchenette was perfect for our needs. The Innkeeper had breakfast items, coffee and tea assortment available, plus coolers for use on day trips. Our stay was so comfortable and cozy, a refreshing oasis during our travels. I stayed this week, having stayed here on two previous trips to the RGV.  The best thing about Alamo Inn is the personal service you receive.  Keith is friendly and full of information about the area.  Makes it much more fun than an ordinary motel stay.

We stumbled on the Alamo Inn by accident, having traveled to the RGV with no prior lodging arrangements and it turned out to be the best experience. Rooms were actually suites and suites were actually apartments. (We stayed in both) They were very homey and relaxing.  The Alamo Inn is centrally located to all of the spots we were traveling to, from the sites on South Padre Island in the east, to Salineno in the west. Arrangements were very flexible and LOW stress, service was wonderful.  Keith is the best, and also very helpful in finding birds. Kitchen with snacks is open 24/7. He even provides coolers for you to take a packed lunch with you which he provides as well (you make).   I've never had that kind of service. I can't recommend Alamo Inn B&B enough. The accommodations were amazing -- three rooms, a kitchen, living room/dining room, a spacious bedroom and full bath -- all for a reasonable price. The room was clean. The furniture comfortable. The location was outstanding, near restaurants and other amenities. We ALWAYS stay here when birding the Rio Grande Valley. The location is perfect for hitting all the hotspots. Keith, the owner, is very helpful and personable.
